Weekly update

Give blood. iPhone 6

Monday: The week started in the worst way. I went to swim at the local swimming pool, but too many people there made it impossible to really swim. I only managed to complete about half of the session before leaving in frustration. The rest of the day was spent donating blood at the local hospital and relaxing, something I haven't done before.

Tuesday: After the easy Monday I wanted to get back into training. I went to the gym and did a very nice 2 hour bike ride. My pulse was maybe a bit higher than normal, but I'm sure that was because of the blood loss the day before. After the session was over I want up to the upper floor and did some nice and easy stretches as well. Mobility is important!

Wednesday: As usual Wednesdays are spent at Fitness world lifting to make my legs stronger. I did my usual regime, but also experimented with some easy straight leg deadlifts and good mornings to strengthen the back. This was a great success and something I will continue doing.

Thursday: Another gym day, but this time on the treadmill. I did my usual tempo training with 10 minute intervals, ramping up the speed for each interval with just 0.2 km/h. This time though I started at a higher pace than earlier and ended up having to stop after seven minutes on the last interval. I was hugely disappointed in myself, but was still happy with the way the training had gone. My garmin gave me 72 of recovery time, which is often a very good sign of a great session.

Friday: Recovery day and transport day to get to the wedding at Samsø. Spent most of the time having troubles getting up from a sitting position. The weight lifting session had really made an impact.

Saturday: The best session of the week by far. I only had time for a short run, so I managed to get almost 10 km before we had to get ready for the wedding. It was neither a hard run or a fast run, but the experience it gave through exploration will give me a memory I'll cherish for years to come. More about that tomorrow.

Sunday: Another recovery and transport day.

Summary: I'm overall happy with this week. I didn't fill it with too much training, as all the other activities I did sort of gave me less time. This week will be very similar, as I have several commitments that might hinder me from actually working out too much, but hopefully I'll manage to cram something in there before Christmas.
