Usually I don't get sore, but Wednesday's leg session was something out of the ordinary. I started with several new exercises designed to strengthen my back and bum area (good morning and lounges), which made my body very sore throughout yesterday.
Stability was on the program, and it was such a hassle to get through. Not because it was hard, but just because I was sore. It doesn't matter how tired I am, stability is something I need to go through in order to make my plan work.
My stability program revolves around different plank exercises, but also entails balance, small squats as well as hip exercises. All have a purpose towards getting my whole body more in tune with training. My inspiration for the stability program is the book TRI by Torbjørn Sindballe, which I have mentioned before. His book include mobility exercises specially for triathlon athletes. Worth a look if you understand a Scandinavian language.
