I'm back, after a week with absolutely no physical activity and tons of pain (and painkillers). Yesterday was spent traveling home to Norway, so today was the first opportunity to get my heart pumping again.
It was unusually dark this morning, but that wasn't a big surprise. My childhood home is quite a bit further north than Denmark, and even though the sun breaks the horizon here in the winter, it never really clears the high mountain tops. I had hoped of ascending high enough to actually see the sun, but I probably lacked a couple hundred meters to do so. Maybe I'll be able to do so later this Christmas if I strap some skis on.
The run started in the center of Valldal and went up to Klovset, a small mountain farm at 549 meters above the sea level. These type of hills are not possible to find in Denmark, so I decided not to push my limits too much today. I was out for about two hours, but I was only moving for one and a half. The rest was spent looking at the beautiful Norwegian nature, filming and taking photos.
If I manage to get a couple of sessions like this during the next week I'll be very happy with my personal Christmas training camp. Follow me on Strava to see those as well!
