Yesterday was Christmas Eve, and I had planned to just have an easy recovery day with lots of food and good company. But after talking to my buddies I realized that I needed a short run done as well.
It was snowing a bit yesterday, but not really enough to bother us. The run was of the short and hilly type, not something I am used to when running in flat Denmark. Once we arrived at the hills my pulse escalated quickly. Luckily for me it was a slower run and not one of the fast ones.
The two guys I ran with are my childhood friends. They have been cross country skiing their entire life and are usually in better shape than I. Beating them is my primary motivation when training. Every monday morning I get a notification on my phone telling me to go out and train in order to beat them the next time we meet.
Yesterday was not a competition though, but rather just a Merry Christmas run. I'll have to try beating them another time.
