She's a beauty isn't she? My twilight princess - Midna. What? You don't name your bike? What kind of cyclist are you?
Not the most expensive bike, but man is she fast regardless. Her social security name is the "Ridley Chronus 105", but to me she is Midna.
She is equipped to the brim with Shimano 105. Not the most expensive and best, but maybe the most reliable gear set that Shimano is making. I hope she won't be mad when I tell you that she weighs in at only 8,7 kilograms (for you imperials out there, learn a system that makes sense).
I rarely get to use her though, because she lives in Norway at the moment. I don't have a bike case, and transporting her without is too much of a hassle. I still dream of the day when we make the big leap and she moves in. i can't complain though, cause my beloved Zelda lives with me down in Denmark, and she satisfies all my bike needs.
I have used Minda in two competitions this year: Trollveggen Triathlon and Tønsberg ByTRI, and was very happy with how she performed both times. They were two very different bike races. Trollveggen was extremely steep, while ByTRI was very flat, and although it worked well in both scenarios the engine on top needs to work harder on the steep sections especially.
Once I signed up for Alcatraz I tried to figure out how I could bring Midna to San Francisco, but gave up very quickly. The option to lend a bike there is much more logical to do, especially if we want to stay in SF for a longer period of time after the race. Dragging around a huge bike case is not what I want to do when on vacation.
