Just yesterday I checked my schedule and realized that my first race of this season is just two weeks away. This race is held by the same people who is arranging the Lillebælt Half Marathon later in May. Both races were bundled together when I got them in one glorious birthday present last year.
Strava says my fastest 10k ever is 42:07. I haven't really tried to run a fast 10k since I did one in Tromsø about 10 years ago. Strandvejsløbet is well known for being a flat and very fast race, and I admit that I would be disappointed if I didn't set a new personal record for the distance. I'm still far away from where I want to be, and I'm not sure I have the stamina yet to keep the pace I want for 10k. I expect to get well below 42 minutes, but to still have problems getting sub 40.
The scenery of this race is nice to look at. It all happens not far from the Lillebælt bridge, which also is the location of the Lillebælt Halfmarathon. It's also very close to Hindsgavl, a place I made a video about a couple months ago.
I am looking forward to running my first race in a very long time, and I can't wait to see how far I can push my PB.
