I wrote about me doing this interval session yesterday on my Instagram, and I must admit I had butterflies in my stomach before running yesterday. Once I start I struggle with finding the motivation to finish it, but with a friend pushing you it all gets a lot easier.
With a buddy with me yesterday I had no problem finishing the entire session in style. Combined the entire run was just shy of 18k, and I must say that this probably was one of the best interval sessions I have ever had.
Much of it is because of the way the session is built up, gradually increasing your heart rate, and having the goal of engaging your body to give more effort at later stages in order to keep the same pace. But the biggest reason why I loved yesterdays session was the pace I was able to run. Usually I've been able to run this at a 4:20. Yesterday I was running a lot closer to sub 4.
My plan is to finish this week off with another one of those and then use the week before the half marathon to rest and carb load in order to maximize my performance.
